Let's just say, that I am not a person who writes things down very often. But I am beginning to realize that my brain just can't remember everything, and there are a lot of things that I don't want forgotten.
I will start off with when I found out I was pregnant since this is now the most exciting thing that is happening in my life right now.
Dh and I were ttc for over a year and a half. It was a hard time for me becuase I didn't know if there was something wrong with me or if God was telling me to have more faith. One of the things I did was take my bbt every morning to see if I O'd. Well the month I conceived was the month I thought was going to be no good. So when I continued to take my temp and it continued to stay up above coverline, I started getting excited. Wondering if maybe this was it. Sunday morning I woke up at 5:30am and I poas! within Seconds I got my BFP! I was shocked, it honestly didn't seem real. But then it set in and I was overwhelmed with emotion and excitment. First thing I did was cry and thank God for hearing our prayers. I asked that He would forgive me for the times I lacked faith. The next thought was , how am I going to tell Miguel? I knew he would be getting up in an hour or so to get ready for church, so I left the hpt on the sink in the bathroom. I was getting ready to get back in bed, when Abby woke up, She needed to use the potty. So I took her and I sat on the floor. I said " Abby, guess what? Jesus finally answered your prayers. You're going to be a big sister!!" I remember how big her eyes looked in the dark, her eyebrows raised. "you mean, mom, you have a baby in your tummy?" I replied "yes, I have a baby in my tummy" She then asked me to turn the light on. I told her she wouldn't see anything but she said "please mom, turn on the light".
I think maybe she thought my tummy would all of a sudden be huge. So I turned on the light that blinded her eyes. I quickly turned it off. I asked her if she saw the baby, and she said yes! LOL
I told her it was a secret so don't tell anyone and she said okay. I brought her back to bed with me. and she fell asleep. I layed there awake waiting for Miguels alarm to go off. Finally it did. He got up and headed to the bathroom. It took him a minute and then he headed to the sink to brush his teeth. After a minute or so I realized he wouldn't see the test because he didn't have his glasses on and he is blind without them. So I got up and walked into the bathroom. I stood there watching him brush his teeth. I had a huge smile on my face. He looked up and with a mouth full of foaming toothpaste, he said "what?" He gave me the craziest look! He later told me that he was wondering why I was up and just staring at him with a smile. So anyhow, I picked the hpt up from infront of him and I showed him. It took a second for it to register, and with a mouth full of foaming toothpaste and eyes that were so big around, he said "really"? he rinsed and said it again. "Really, you're pregnant"? I smiled and said yes and he threw his arms around me and gave me a huge hug. I began to cry and we thanked God together. I sent a picture text of Abby holding a sign that said "i'm going to be a big sister" and I sent it to my side of the family. Everyone responded except my sister sherry. Which was strange because she knew about our struggles with ttc. So I called her and I asked if she saw my text. She said no and I told her to check it and call me back. Within seconds she called back and asked if I was serious. I told her yes and we cried together. I told her that it happened at her house and that her house must of been covered in babydust!!!
The first person Abby told was Granny Dodd. oops, she forgot it was a secret. But that was okay.
We then went to my in-laws house Sunday night. I had my camera on and Abby had a coloring she that was folded up. We all went into my in-laws bedroom to say hi to my fil. My MIL was sitting on the floor when Abby asked "Grandma, you think maybe later you can color this with me"? She opened it up and saw a picture of a little girl looking into a baby bassinet, it said "Hi, i'm your best big sister" My MIL read it out loud, I had my camera on recording it and she looked up "are you pregnant"?!!! my FIL then looked up and I said yes. They were all so excited and happy!
and then evenetually we told everyone else. So there it is the begining of something special.

Aww... I made your blog! I feel special. You just reminded me that I need to dust the room of any "baby dust" that might be around 'cause Pastor Jaime and Daissy will be sleeping here for Thanksgiving! Bwahahahaha!
