A little change is good for the soul

As my belly get's bigger (and my butt and my boobs), I have felt like I have lost all control. This baby and these hormones have taken over! So I felt it was time for a little change. And like every other pregnant woman, I decided to change the one thing I do have control of, my hair. On friday I went to the Aveda institute to get my hair done. I can't afford the Aveda salon, so I figured this would be the next best thing. I walk in and they sit me in this big comfy chair. (it's just the salon chair) the girl introduced herself and asked what I wanted done. I had no clue really. I just wanted to do something different with my hair. So I told her I want som bangs and my hair layered. No problem, but first I will be giving you a scalp massage, using our beautifing scalp oil. A SCALP MASSAGE!!! Oh yah, this is what I am talkin' about. So she massaged my head, neck and shoulders for about 5 minutes. 5 minutes of good relaxation. I felt spoiled! I asked if everyone gets massages and she said yes, all Aveda salons give massages before getting their hair done. (Now I know why it cost so much to go there) She then takes me to wash my hair, using only Aveda products. and there I layed under the hot water and this girl massaging my head with the shampoo and conditioner. I would have closed my eye's but I was afraid I would start snoring. Finally we were done and she started working on my hair. I was so relaxed that I didn't even talk. This girl could have been digging through my purse and I wouldn't have cared one bit. So anyhow, she started cuting away, and my hair (which was down to my waist) starts to fall. I started to get a little nervous but that didn't last long. She finished up and it was time for me to pay and go. I was so excited and so relaxed. I felt thinner, I felt revived and I felt like telling the girl to call me if she ever needed anything. The best part for my dh, it only cost $12.00 + $3.00 tip!
I enjoyed it, heck, I loved it. In fact they give facials for $25.00's so I am going back.
Who would have ever thought that a little massage and getting your hair done could lift your spirit and keep a smile on your face?
