Today I am thankful

I'm sitting here and thinking about what I am thankful for... and I would have to say that I am thankful for the Holy Spirit. You know it is so much easier to fall away from God as an adult than as a child. As a child you have your parents there to try and lead and guide you . But as an adult you don't have that. You are the parent, you are the leader and the guide. You don't have someone hovering over you, telling you to not listen to that or change your attitude..... As Christian Adults are guide should be the Bible and our Pastor. Also our husbands.... but it is so much easier to choose to do what you want because you are the adult. That's when the Holy Spirit comes along and whispers in your heart "you shouldn't be doing that. You need to be more patient. You need to change your attitude. You need to pray and read your Bible"
Sometimes we don't like it and we resist as much as we can and we just wear ourselves out trying to fight God/Holy Spirit. By doing that we end up quenching the Holy Spirit and we are farther away from God.
If there is one thing that I want more than anything, it is to have a tender heart. I want to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and when He speaks to me I want to submit. It is so easy for people to hold on to hurt, bitterness and stubbornness. It's just not worth it. I've been there and it does not feel good. I am thankful that God loves us so much that He has sent us the Holy Spirit to help us live and be the best that we can be for God's glory.
