This morning I had our once a month ladies brunch at church. Basically we get together and I give a devotion and then we either eat at the church or we all go out to eat and enjoy each others company. My devotion was very simple, "how to grow spiritually in 2009" And I read the verse in Mark 12:30 "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these." I simply said that in order to grow in our relationship with God we have to love Him with our all. It is so easy to get caught up in routine or tradition that we no longer attend church, or read our Bible, or pray or even sing with a sincere desire and hunger to get to know our Heavenly Father. With a desire to be changed! When I get to Heaven I don't want to know just a little about my Heavenly Father, I want to know Him with all of my heart. Anyhow.....
Afterwards some of the ladies said that the devotion was a blessing and I thanked God that He was able to use me. I am so humbled at that thought. God has chosen to use me. For those that knew me growing up, they would be shocked to know that I married a pastor. It was the unimaginable, even for me. But here I am today, it's not always easy, it's not always fun but it is always beautiful to know that God wants to use me. He's counting on me to serve Him, to love Him with my all, and I want to love Him and serve Him with my all.

Wow, Esther. Sounds like a great devotion! Your ladies are blessed to have you as their Pastor's Wife. I am not shocked that you are doing what you are doing. I prayed for it. =]
