Dreams

Have you ever had a dream that just felt so real? If it's a good dream, you wake up with a smile and joy in your heart. You may want to drift back into sleep to try and continue that dream. But if it's a nightmare, then it as well can affect you physically. You wake up with your chest hurting, your heart beat increased , you're sweaty and it takes you a moment to snap back into reality. You may even wake up actually crying!
Well it seems that since I've been pregnant I've been having the weirdest dreams. Not pleasant dreams but scary dreams. Dreams where kids are being tortured and I can't do anything about it, dreams where my husband or children are in danger and I can't save them. Just horrible, horrible dreams. After I snap back into reality, I will roll over and snuggle real close to my husband. I love the security he offers and just having him there where I can feel him close and safe. Because if he's safe then my family is safe! After a while I will start to think about my dream, I wonder what caused me to have such a horrific nightmare.
Now I know that there are some dream analyst that say if you dream of your teeth falling out then it means you are overly stressed (which I have dreamt several times) or if you see snakes in your dream then it means something else.
But sometimes I think it's just about what you are feeding your mind. The books you read, the movies you watch, that sort of thing. I think sometimes we don't realize how those things affect our spirit. We feed so much garbage to our spirit and then we wonder why we dream what we dream. And not just from entertainment stuff, but maybe you had a rough day and your spirit was not what it should be, maybe you have jealousy issues or bitterness issues. Things that affect your spirit negatively is garbage.
When I have these ridiculous dreams, it reminds me that I need to pray more and spend more time reading my Bible. I need to purge the things that are garbage, out of my life and out of my home. If I do this then maybe I'll go back to dreaming about off roading in the clouds in a beautiful bubble gum pink 4 door jeep. Abby and I can eat the clouds as if they're cotton candy ! :) *now you probably think I'm crazy LOL
Before Abby goes to bed, I tell her that I'll meet her in my dreams and she asks "who's car are we gonna go in"? and sometimes we go in her Bronco that is covered in puppy dog stickers or my jet that has pictures of my kids on them! and then we make up some crazy adventure!
I love being a mom! :)

Wow. Scary post. I love to read before I go to bed, but I try to choose things that are light and cheerful. Never Stephen King or Ted Dekker LOL.
We got rid of cable. For many reasons, but I am so glad the kids aren't parked there in front of the Disney channel all summer. Garbage in - garbage out.
