Joe and Ellie watching Abby do Cheer Practice
Ellie doing Ballet
Joey playing Soccer for the first time
Excited about joining the YMCA and getting to take classes
Abby and her Daddy going to play golf together
Where do I even begin? Summer has really kicked in here in Michigan. First off, I thought or hoped that we would be back in New Mexico by this time but obviously God has other plans and here we still are. Abby did well in School this year. She worked hard to finish in the middle of May and I have to say "thank God" LOL I really don't enjoy homeschooling, let me rephrase that, homeschooling can be very stressful and anyone that homeschools understands why. My kids are getting bigger. Abby is going into the third grade, Joey will be starting K-4 and Ellie will be 3 in November. Being that my kids don't go to school I wanted them to be involved in plenty of things for the summer. Abby finished her voice lessons and performed two solo's. She did an amazing job! Her voice is blossoming and her love for music is really growing. We also signed her up for Cheer classes at the YMCA. This wasn't my first choice but they didn't really have a lot available for her age group. However she is just thrilled about this and I do think her gymnastic skills will come in handy. Joey is doing a 6 week Sport sampler. His first class was soccer and he just loved it. He won in playing sharks vs. fish :) Over the next 5 weeks he will learn a little about each sport. I think this will help him discover which he might truly enjoy. Ellie is doing Ballet. This couldn't be more perfect for our 2.5 year old. She has amazing balance and such a love for dancing. When we took her to her ballet class, her teacher told her to find a star and sit on it. She did so and folded her hands in her lap, and she kept looking over to the window at us and giving us the biggest smile. She love seeing all the other little girls in their dance skirts and ballet slippers. She did so well following the teachers lead. Then all three kids are signed up for swim lessons. It's a 6 week class and I know this will be a breeze for them since both Joe and Ellie already jump off the side of the pool into deep water and can hold their breath . Abby does well in anything she participates in. Miguel and I currently work out at the gym connected with his work. But because there isn't a daycare facility we can not work out together. What we plan on doing is getting a membership to the YMCA for the whole family and going to work out together while the kids are either participating in a class or playing in the daycare room. This allows Miguel and I to take fitness classes together or use the gym equipment together. I'm really looking forward to this because I know my kids are having fun and my husband and I can encourage each other to workout and be fit.
I find so much joy watching my kids participate and get excited about being active. I want them to discover a passion. Find what they love and be really great at it. For Abby it my be gymnastics or music, for Joey it may be sports or painting and for Ellie it could be ballet or demolition but whatever it is I hope they find it and feel confident in it.
