Yesterday my dh felt a like doing something spontaneous, "Hey let's take a trip to White Sands!" It was already 11:30. I was still in my p.j.'s, but hey that sounds like fun. So we all get ready (except Miguel who was already ready) and we leave on our 2 hour road trip. I had never been to White Sands. Maybe when I was real little but I don't remember that. When we got there it was so amazing to see. Hills and Hills of, well white sand. But it was all of a sudden. Out of no where and only on one side of the desert! We stopped in the visitor center and rented a little sled for Abby. We got there and decided to take off our shoes. I thought it would be hot, like the sand at the beach. But it was actually very cool to the touch. The sand was so fine and very soft. Abby immediately started running up the biggest hill. I quickly grabbed my camera and Miguel was trying to catch up with Abby. We were all like a bunch of little kids. Looking for the biggest hill to climb and then slide down. I did more sitting and picture taking, but Abby and Miguel played tag, they flew down the side of hills, climbed back up and Abby rolled down some. The weather was perfect, and it was so relaxing just to sit up there and look around. After 2 hours, it was time to leave. Abby wanted to stay. She said " I wish there was a hotel so we could stay for like 5 weeks" LOL Almost as soon as we got in the car she fell asleep.
We will definately be going more often!

Super cool! I remember the fun there. I would love to take my children one day! How great of Miguel to do something like that. =]
