Beauty-2- Church

Our church is a small church in a small town. When Dh came to the church as the Assistant Pastor, we had maybe 20 people in all. Now on a Sunday Morning we average about 60. This morning I was looking around as we were singing and I was thinking, "wow, there's a good amount of people here" There were children, elderly and middle aged. I thought" I wonder how full our church really would be if everyone that is a member actually came all on the same sunday"? As I looked around I saw some new faces.... some that have only been coming for a while and some that are the pillars of the church. It was BEAUTIFUL to see so many faces. But even more than that, it is amazing to see how some of the newer Christians have grown spiritually over 2008.
It's beautiful to me to see your church grow in number and spirtually. Without people the church would not exist, without growth the church is also dead.

I always enjoy going to the church there in T. or C.! There is a wide array of people and your DH preaches so fast! Not just that it's short, there is a lot packed in there! I got so used to long, slow preaching that it is refreshing!

Our old church (had to close it's doors) was so small in numbers, I think we were down to 18 members at the time we closed. I remember sitting there saying to DH, "I hope our next church is bigger because it's just not as joyful in a smaller body"..

Now the fellowship that we worship with is maybe 40 people and it's some of the most spirit filled worship and praise that I've ever experienced. I've come to realize that the difference is in the spirit, not in the numbers so I completely understand how joyful it is for you to see your member grow spiritually. Great post!
