Getting ahead of ourselves

Josiah is my 7 month old son and there are certain things that they are suppose to know how to do at 7 months. One of the things is being interested in crawling. Now, I don't know about other children his age, but Josiah does not like to be on his tummy. Yes, I still give him tummy time but it's like he just gives up as soon as he is on his tummy. He's strong enough to push his whole upper body up, but he just doesn't even try. He'll roll over or he'll plant his chubby little face into the floor. However, he does love to sit up and you can tell he wants to start moving so badly. He'll lean as far forward as he possibly can but he hasn't quite figured out how to move his feet from out infront of himself. It really is funny. We always cheer him on and try to encourage him to keep trying. I even put a twizzlers candy in front to get him going.... boy did he get frustrated!

You know, I think sometimes we as christians are the same way. We want to do things our own way, and we want what we want so badly that if we don't get it we get frustrated and we start throwing a fit. God continually has to re-position us and He is constantly cheering us on and putting blessing before us. Yet we don't want to even attempt His way. We think our way is easiest and best. Sometimes I'll put Josiah on his belly and then help position him on his knees and hands, he'll just stay there and cry or will push his leg out to lay on his belly again, and I keep trying. God's the same way. He just keeps trying, He keeps cheering, He keeps helping. But if we would just do things His way, it'd be so much simpler.

Eventually Josiah will catch on and he is learning, he just wants to do it his way.

Great post sis... I wrote back on my blog to answer yours and Sherry's post. I know how you feel though... my MIL keeps telling me everything that is suppose to happen at what age and to make sure I get started on that list when JP is born. lol It is hard to let God position us at times because He may want us to go down a path we don't want to but have to... That's one struggle we all have to work on.
