My husband and I are extreme opposites but we still have so much in common. He is very neat and orderly, responsible and smart. I tend to be more on the messy side (that's why I participate in the home sanctuary challenges) and unorganized on the outside ;) I am more like a kid... Play first business later. I'm more mechanically smart and not necessarily book smart. My husband does not like to procrastinate, and I'm the biggest procrastinator ever. I could go on, but it would probably bore you to death.
There are many wonderful things about my husband.
- But one of the things that stands out the most would be how big his heart is. I believe this is why he is such a great pastor. He loves the people of our church and when someone does something disloyal, it hurts him deeply.
- Miguel loves his family. I don't know if it is because he's the oldest, but when his parents are hurting it burdens him. He has to find a way to help or to fix the situation. He is always thinking of fun things for us to do as a family, whether it is spend the day out on the lake having a picnic. Watching a movie together while eating popcorn and soda. Going off roading in his Bronco or taking a road trip somewhere. You never know when he might say "hey, let's go do __________"
- He's a man. My husband is no sissy boy. He's a hard worker and will do whatever it takes to provide for his family. He didn't grow up working on cars but there is a mechanic in our church and often Miguel will go over there to work on our cars and learn how to do things. Partly to help save costs on our vehicles, but mostly because he wants to teach his son how to do these things as well. Miguel doesn't make a lot of money, he has a set salary that the church pays him. But because we like to go out to eat and do fun things he has come up with a few ways to make extra money. One of those thing is a enclosure kit that he has invented for his Honda ruckus scooter. He sells them on eBay. We use all the money from those kits on going out to eat. My husband always pays our bills, we always have food to eat and nice clothes to wear. He loves sports and playing the wii. He's a man.
- He's an amazing dad. Our kids have his heart in their hands. He takes our daughter out on dates to dairy queen. He is always doing fun things with her. Like taking her for rides on his scooter, making up stories with her, reading her books.... it's endless. He bought her real golf clubs so she could learn to play and go with him (some guys use golf as a means of getting away, but he wishes it was a family event) he bought her a soccer goal to help teach her how to play. He bought all of us Chicago Bear jersey's so we could put them on during the games. He's simply amazing. He always melts my heart when I see him with his little girl. Now our son is just a baby. But you can tell that Miguel is so proud of his son. He always says "man babe, he is so handsome" Whenever my son sees his daddy, he gets the biggest smile on his face and he kicks out his legs and arms with excitement.
- He's my husband. and best friend. Miguel isn't a real funny guy by nature, but he is so Corny it's funny. He always makes me smile (except when we argue LOL) The ministry can be very busy, but he always makes time for me. It kills him not to give me everything I want *even though I do mostly get what I want* I spend most of my time with him and I believe I am a better person and a better christian because of him. He believes in me and reminds me constantly that I am a wonderful wife. He is affectionate and soft hearted. He is the leader of our family and he does a great job at it. One of the greatest things i can say, is that he CHERISHES me. He makes me feel that way because he really really feels as if I am the greatest woman on the face of the earth. He believes that about me, about his kids, his parents, and his church. He is always appreciative of what I do for him, even the small things like taking my hair out of his hair brush :) or scooting the driver seat back after I drive so that when he gets in he doesn't hit his knee on the dash. I simply have a wonderful, wonderful husband. I am so thankful for the man God gave me.
I could go on as I'm sure many of you could about your husband. But my husband is truly a blessing and my best friend
