My daughter, Abby, is almost 5 years old. She is a very bright young lady for only being 4! I have the privilege of homeschooling my daughter. I use the A Beka DVD program. Yesterday, my daughter's teacher was talking about salvation in Bible time. She mentioned if you truly know that you will be going to heaven one day if you were to die. Now, I talk about salvation in my Sunday school class all the time (which Abby is in) and Abby knows all the "right" answers, but we've never prayed with her or showed her from the Bible. She has said many times " I ask Jesus to come into my heart like every night because I don't want to go to the bad place." But this time she came to me and said "Mommy, I just asked Jesus to be my Saviour" I began asking her some questions and I told her that Daddy would sit down with you and explain everything so that way you know where it says it in the Bible. I was so excited for her I gave her a huge hug and told her I was so proud of her. That evening when my husband came home Abby told him the good news! He was so excited for her and she asked him if he would show her from the Bible. He was delighted to show her. So yesterday February 3, 2009 My daughter accepted the love of Jesus and all of His grace and forgiveness! Praise God that we have a Heavenly Father that was willing to pay the ultimate price for our filthy sin! Salvation is a sweet, sweet thing and it should never be taken for granted. I wish we all had the simple faith of a child. Praise God.
