Today we started our soul winning program. We had a great first time turn out. 4 ladies and 5 men.
It's been a long time since I have gone out knocking on doors and inviting people to church. Don't get me wrong, I invite people all the time, wherever I go I am inviting people and handing out tracts. So I was excited and nervous all at the same time. I mean you go to a door and knock, not knowing who or what is behind that door. You are inviting them to a place they may or may not want to go. You are telling them that there is a alternative to Hell. You just don't know how people are going to react.
Anyhow, My sister and I went together and we had a great time. I talked to two teenagers and they both accepted Christ into their lives, and they want to come to church. But here is an amazing story.
There is a 5 year old girl named Stacie. Her teacher is a member of our church. One Wednesday night she asked us to pray for Stacie. Stacie had a kidney transplant and ever since she has been in and out of the hospital. She gets sick very easily and on top of that she has to wear a permanent catheter. We have a picture of Stacie on our bulletin board. We have never met this little girl or her family. But we have been praying for her.
Today my husband knocked on a door. The mother told my husband and the other two men that were with him to come in. She was holding a 3 week old baby and it was cold outside. My husband started talking to her about church and she said that her and her husband have been talking about finding a church. But she said this past year had been really hard. She explained that her daughter needed a kidney transplant and she gave her daughter her kidney. Ever since her little girl had been in and out of the hospital. Well right away Miguel knew who he was talking to. He asked what the little girls name was and she said "Stacie"
Miguel then proceeded to tell her how we've been praying for her little girl. As they were talking Miguel felt lead to tell her about Christ and His free gift of Eternal Life. And right there in her living room she accepted Christ as her Saviour!
I get chills just thinking about how God worked all of that out. She's interested in visiting our church. Stacie is 5 years old and she has a little sister that is about 4 years old and a baby that is 3 weeks old. I think it would be wonderful if my Abby could be friends with them. God is so good.

I am so thrilled to hear about your fruitful day! I agree it is terrifying to go door knocking. I am a social person, but I really struggle with that one. It also helps us keep up a testimony because you never know if the person on the other side of the door is the lady at the grocery store that you gave a dirty look last week!
What a terrific story of how God's hand is working in a real way through your church!
